My Yealink W60B base station cannot make the W56H handset connect to the PBX, so I must assume I have an incorrect connection configuration for the base station.

Does anyone know what I should set in the base station web interface to make it work with my FushionPBX/FS system?

I tried a test call and got the message:
this account number is not valid

I don't know what is sending that message.

Without any log or network trace this is just making guesses and looking into a crystal ball ...

Additionally you did not mention how you did configure your base station to connect to your FusionPBX.

Basically, but you can also look this up in the documentation of your yealink, you go to the webinterface of the base station.

Go into Account -> REGISTER and configure the following values according to your extension and fusionpbx configuration:

Line Active: Enabled
Label: Test Extension
Display Name: Bob Ross
Register Name: <extension_name_defined_in_fusionpbx>
User Name: <extension_name_defined_in_fusionpbx>
Password: <extension_name_defined_in_fusionpbx>

SIP Server 1

Server Host:
<domain_name_of_your_fusionpbx> in your case it might be the ip address
Port: 5060
Transport:
Depends on your setup. I prefer TCP due to less struggle on the network level

After that, ensure the Register Status of the account switches to Registered. If that worked go into Number Assignment and ensure the handset is associated with the correct account

Like already stated: If you want help, please provide useful information like logs, network traces with sngrep network traces / logs from the base station itself. At least I can't help you with this information, eventually someone else can help you / has time to brute force all possible issues.

Sorry, was still fooling around with it.

By the way, where do I find the base station's logs?

Settings -> Configuration -> Export All Diagnostic Files

After you've started the diagnostics, you have to re-register and export the logs afterwards.

Thank you for that. It was much further into the device interface options than I had traveled before. Good to know.

Hope this helps.

Ok, the FreeSWITCH (192.168.1.21) responds with a Forbidden to your Register request

Are you sure that you are using the correct password for this extension? If it's wrong, you should find auth failure messages in the freeswitch log. You could just set it to something simple like test1234 during testing to make sure there are no special characters which might cause issues.

@mat1010 ,
Thanks again for noticing the password problem. I believe I have traced it down, but don't know how to fix it.

In the Yealink browser interface, there is a tab entitled Account and the first item is Register. It is at this point that I am confused.

I would think that I am registering with the FusionPBX/FreeSWITCH server and not with the provider. Is that correct?

Yes, this is correct. The registration with your provider / carrier is done through your gateway configuration within FusionPBX/FreeSWITCH, the Yealink does not have to know anything about your provider / carrier.

Thank you for that clear answer.

That leaves me with what appears to be the final blockage::
It is interesting that there are passwords for each extension, but not for the base of the portable IP phones. The base can handle multiple phones but I assume I am configuring just the base. Therefore, there is no password to use in the Accounts section. What does the user do here?

Each "Account" in the Yealink base does represent an "extension" of the FusionPBX/FreeSWITCH. The whole extension and password config is done through the base stations configuration, you do not have to set any passwords / servers on the phone itself. After you've configured all your "Accounts / Extensions", you assign them to the handsets through "Number Assignment" section within the "Account" menu. Within this section you set which account is available one which phone / handset.

I gather that the Yealink Accounts section must create on account for each extension. They then each appear under Number Assignment.

However, I am failing to register. It may be any of the rest of the items on that page:Screenshot_2020-09-03 Yealink W60B Base.png
