Session Invite Fails Net2Phone

Hi All,

Net2phone which is my siptrunk provider uses dns round-robin for their sip proxy.

I am experiencing random failure when attempting to do outbound calls. This happens when the INVITE with the digest auth is sent to another IP address.

My question , is there an option in fusion/freeswitch to solve this issue?

The round robin should not cause a problem if the SIP provider has configured their network correctly. Make sure ALL or the providers IP addresses are in your access controls to allow.

If the problem persists, try ingoring the DNS round robin and just send to a single IP address. For example put an entry in your /etc/hosts file so that Net2phone always resolves to the same IP address. Make sure you get to the root cause of the problem before putting it in to production.

Adrian, thank you for your response.

I have already reached out to their support and they are not able to address the issue. They are asking me if freeswitch is doing mid-call dns lookup which does not make sense to me.

Below is the call flow that fails.
