Problems with Follow Me

I've scoured google and the forum and can't come up with whats going on here.
I've figured out that if you enable Follow Me, then the extension you're dialing into MUST be in the list. This works. If I put a cell phone in using no delay, for starters, it never dials. Depending on how I enter the cell phone into the entry box gives different errors in the log.

FusionPBX4.4.7
Switch1.8.5 (64bit)

if I enter the cell as 16102238642 I get this error

2019-07-26 15:32:32.651685 [ERR] switch_core_session.c:2581 Invalid Application local

If I enter the cell as 16102238642# I get this error

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I never did get follow me to work with an external number if the SIP trunk provider required proxy authentication.

Hi there...no I didn't find that one but I don't believe that's related. We're using IP auth with our SIP providers. Thanks for the reply. Hoping someone else has something we can try.

This probably won't help but have you tried the simple stuff?

Putting a pound sign at the end of the dial string in Fusionpbx won't do anything and I'm thinking that's why you're getting this:

Maybe you have a pattern matching problem on your outbound route, can you actually dial 16102238642 and have it complete successfully? If you put that number into a ring group does it work then?

I know follow me can be a bit wonky, I had to do a rain dance on the solar equinox to get it to work myself but start simple and work your way out.

Hi Mike...thanks for replying. Yes dialing my cell works. adding a # after it gets a 480 SIP error from dialing it from the keypad.
I'll try a ring group and report back. This is definitely more wonky than asterisk

I actually am enjoying freeswitch more than asterisk. It's just some of the applications need to be tweeked.

As time permits I will be rewriting how follow me is done on the back end. The web interface for it will remain the same.

Is this some sort of regression? I am on an older version of FusionPBX and as far as I am aware I have no problems like this. My phone rings my desk and my cellphone without problem and has done for as long as I remember.

GM thanks for the replies. So far I don't think its working with a ring group but I have to reconfigure one of my devices so it is not on the pbx and will act as a cell phone and will test later.

You can use loopback/11235551212 and it will work, however I think it only allows one external number, the second is ignored. This is on an older version, from approx end of February so YMMV.

Hi folks...sorry for the delay reply. Finally tried a bunch of things this morning and I get nowhere.
I can not seem to get multiple destinations working.

I have tried the following:

1. INBOUND ROUTE --> extension. Follow me --> extension and outside destination results rings local extension
2. INBOUND ROUTE --> RG. RG set to ring local extension and outside destination. same or it might just ring the outside destination

tried various permutations of inbound routes, follow me, etc. all basically the same results.

The way I am expecting it to work is like this.

as in #1 above. Call comes in and rings local and external.

Do not know why it doesnt work for us.

GM folks...sorry to be a PITA but we had to reload the pbx the other day and I retried this and still fails same way. I created a bug ticket and haven't heard from anyone there either as we're paying for support every month.

Does anyone have this working and can show me what they did to get it to work?
Appreciate any response in advance.

I'm going into production soon and am going to need this to work or it could be a deal breaker for a lot of clients.

I'm no coder but I'll be troubleshooting in earnest over the next week or so and will update the thread accordingly.

I should mention, I've worked around the problem with ring groups, ie follow me to ring group which then dials out. However at some point a user is going to want to set follow me in the gui.

@bcmike As I documented above, I've tried that to no avail. only one number gets connected. We're supposedly on the latest FS/Fusion as well.
