NEW INSTALLATION AND REGISTRATION HMMM.....

I have seen some phone models not like special characters in the password field for registration. Come to think of it several versions back of yealink did not like special characters. Can you try just a simple password to see if the phone will reg? Whoops just saw your registers for 10 min bit. You may want to change register timeout. How many seconds is your expire set to on the phone? Having it reg too frequently could be annoying fail2ban

Also you said that it will reg for a bit after a reboot correct? Try stopping the fail2ban service when it boots to see if it holds the reg. Sorry just giving you the info I have used to troubleshoot a stubborn phone

It doesnt look like a fail2ban issue but either a client side NAT or MTU issue. Do you use any NAT support parameters in SPA? What type of internet connection?

@Andrew Byrd, I don't want to be reading all that thread but on these ciscos in the advanced sip settings, set "insert via rport" and "handle via rport" to enabled, that should fix you up.

Also, while we are at it, on the same page look for the rtp packet size, on many ciscos they default to 30ms instead of 20ms.

That will almost certainly fix you up :D

Once again daz you amaze me - I already had changed the .020. I changed the two features as you suggested Handle via port and presto- registration-I wish that little tidbit of info was in the fusionpbx docs. But thank you!

Ok, so at my home I changed the settings on my spa508 and all is working well. Then I go to my office and program my spa525 using the settings above. It registers fine - green light is good. It can make outgoing calls - Perfect. Incoming calls do not ring the phone - they ring the Fanvil phone and the grandstream phone but not the spa525g. Any other settings? Any other ideas?

Here is some new information I found.

Destination (DID) rings ext directly - no issues, works fine

Same DID rings ring group - NO worries, works fine

UNTIL, one of the ext's in the ring groups goes offline - (john unplugs his phone) now that DID does not ring any of the ext in the ring group if one of the ext's are offline.

Also get you registration expiry time down to 120 secs and set transport to tcp unless I have already mentioned it :)
