  • Caller is British (native speaker), connected to their own PBX.
  • Callee is a foreign speaker (e.g., Pakistani, Indian, Arabic, etc.), connected to your FusionPBX.
  • The goal is to make the callee sound like a British person to the caller.
  • The caller’s PBX stays untouched, but you’re handling the media processing using FusionPBX (FreeSWITCH) and Google Cloud.

is there any possibility of doing this?

I do not believe this has been done before. It does have some possibility but the development costs and the large ongoing gpu costs will both be very high. It would be faster and more cost effective to immerse oneself in british elocusion lessons. This use case steps outside the purpose for a pbx

I recently attended a conference where I experienced that myself. They put me in the booth, and I spoke with an individual from India with an accent. Then he flipped a button, and just like that, the accent was gone about 95%. There is a technology out there you can buy that doesn't do it. But I'm sure it's not very cheap.

This was not impersonation. It was still the same guy's voice, but without a heavy accent. I can see some uses for this technology, but it will create more outsourced tech support.
