Would you consider creating an official Telegram DjangoPBX chat group, I think it'll gain more traction than an IRC channel. There's quite active FusionPBX, Asterisk, VitalPBX communities on Telegram and I'm sure over time the project will gain more traction with an official DjangoPBX channel.

Hi Gflow, yes, I will consider anything. I do want DjangoPBX to be very much a community owned project, for the benefit of the whole VoIP community. I would like to avoid the possibility of excluding anyone so would prefer to use free open forums that use non-proprietary or federated protocols. There is currently an IRC channel: at irc.libera.chat on the #djangopbx channel.

If you would like to set something up then please feel free to do so, I will join.

Thank you. I have downloaded the Telegram desktop application for Linux, but sadly it will not allow me to join without first installing the Telegram App on my mobile phone, which I do not want to do.
Not sure if there is a workaround for this.

Edit: I run Calyxos on my mobile and the Telegram version on the F-Droid store no longer allows account creation, this is now only allowed on the official build. Also, it would appear that the servers run proprietary software, F-Droid warns me that it depends entirely on a non-free network service and the upstream source-code is not entirely free. So I don't think this is the right platform for me.

Instead of channel it should be group where members can post and ask question, having one way conversation will defeat the purpose of having communisty channel where no one can post share opinion and or ask questions. I have joined telegram channel and signal group. I personally prefer groups due to 2 way communications with the members. The plus - I can poke around on the go lol

Oh I actually meant to make a group not a channel. I have deleted the channel and made a group, please join it.

@Adrian Fretwell I don't think you need to install the app on your phone but you will need a mobile number to sign up
