Hi,

I have an installation of FusionPBX 4.2.2 running Freeswitch 1.6.15 on Debian Jessie 8. I would like to install the open source version of mod_bcg729. I downloaded the version located @ (https://github.com/xadhoom/mod_bcg729). It does not load and gives an error message of:

-ERR [module load file routine returned an error]

2017-04-04 00:01:12.796247 [CRIT] switch_loadable_module.c:1522 Error Loading module /usr/lib/freeswitch/mod/mod_bcg729.so
**/usr/lib/freeswitch/mod/mod_bcg729.so: invalid ELF header**

It seems I do not have the ability to compile modules on this system. It also looks like I do not have the source code for Freeswitch on it. I installed using the latest script on FusionPBX.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm trying to get G729 codec installed that Digital_Diaz referenced. I have placed the file in the /usr/lib/freeswitch/mod folder.

I see it in the modules section of Fusion.

I enabled it and disabled the G.729 pass-though codec.

If that is all done correctly, then where I get stuck is setting it in the Variables section.

I set the global_codec_prefs line to:
G7221@32000h,G7221@16000h,G722,BCG729,PCMU,PCMA,GSM,H261,H263,H263-1998,H263-2000,H264

Do I reference it as BCG729 or should G729 still be in there?

When I try to get a softphone to use the G729 codec I get error 488 which I believe means it can't find the codec.

Thanks for the help.

I wasn't sure if it used the name of the codec or the filenam. :)

So I should leave the pass through one disabled, and just enable the new one?

Thanks

The module looks enabled, you should just have to add the codecs into the vars now, probably flush memcache and restart freeswitch too.

Just wanted to follow up. That was the issue. I changed it to G729 and rebooted. All worked great. Thanks for the help.
