How do I configure Music on Hold

I've ready the minimal documentation on this topic and can't seem to get my custom wav file to play.

I added a GLOBAL music group called 'custom'. Added an 8khz wav file.

Changed in variables hold_music=local_stream://custom

Doesn't seem to change anything as the default music still plays.

The only way I was able to get MOH to work was to:

1) Upload my moh file to the home directory.
2) Move the file to the /usr/share/freeswitch/sounds....default/8000 directory.
3) Delete all other files in the 8k, 16k, 32k, 48k directories.

it is a bit in in-intuitive. select new bitrate format.

Not intuitive at all....It won't allow me to upload any file into the default categories.

I said in-intuitive (if there is such a word)

1. Under Apps, Music on Hold click the plus at category
2. Name the new category and upload it

1. It will now appear in the bottom;
2. Assign it at the extension level.

Now if someone can answer my multi registration question question?

That is the way it is designed, its is playing a continuous loop.

Each person does not get the MOH from the beginning.
