Hello
From time to time the gateway needs to be restarted (due to a power outage). I can't seem to do this from Accounts > Gateway, select my VoIP.ms gateway and press "start" at the top of the screen. Only a reboot will get the gateway to connect. Is there another method I can use instead of the reboot?

Version 4.5.28

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

You should have fs_cli open when you try it from the gui, then you should see, hopefully, what the error is.

Hello
Thanks for the feed back. I've noticed that when I try and start the gateway, at the top of the page is a green banner with "Gateway Started." "voip.ms: invalid profile (external)."
The fs_cli file shows extension 202 only - no registration activity for the gateway.

Thanks

Hello
Is someone able to help me with this error message that I'm getting? "Gateway Started." "voip.ms: invalid profile (external)." How do I correct this issue? Is it because I don't have my domain entered in the SIP Profile section? Please see picture.

If you go to Status => SIP Status, do you have an "External" profile?

Unfortunately my ipv6 is pretty shotty but I'm not sure if you can run both profiles on 5060 at the same time. Does it complain about the port already being in use?

IPv4 and IPv6 can use the same port, they are a completely different network stack. I run v4 and v6 on the same port. You do not need to put your domain in the "domains" section of the SIP profile.

I find rebooting the system will register the SIP trunk. Is this the only option I have since I can't seem to resolve the "external profile" error?

Thanks

I have only just noticed your external profile is listening on port 5060, why is this?

Hello
I see port 5060 as part of the "SIP Profile" settings. I don't recall playing around with these values.

The port setting for the external profile should be 5080 and 5060 for the internal.

Hello
Changing the external port to 5080 did the trick. I was able to stop and start the SIP trunk via the GUI as opposed to rebooting the machine. Interestingly when I pulled power plug and then restored the power the trunk / gateway registered; I didn't have to start it from the Gateway window.

Thanks to all those that responded to my question. Thanks you DigitalDaz. This issue is resolved.
