Debian what to update?

Hi,

Just installed a new Debian and FusionPBX server and when I check for available updates, Debian is offering updates for both Freeswitch and ProgresSQL. My question is should I update these items or will it break FusionPBX 4.5? In the past I found that updating these components broke FusionPBX. Any advise?

Personally, I never update the OS. When I feel the need to do so, I build a new Virtual Machine that includes the updates to the OS an then install Fusion and restore the database. This post may be helpful:

My experience is that upgrades should always work. When they do not, we downgrade to like it was and/or rely upon our backups.

Just make a backup image of your drive and then do the upgrade. If it works, you're golden. If it doesn't, quickly restore the backup. Problems solved.

If you are creating a system that requires three nines of uptime or more, then we will assume you have parallel systems in place. Upgrade and test appropriately.
