did a big upgrade and everything seams to be ok but I noticed when i restored my database it put the GUI back to the old GUI insted of the shiney new one I saw when I first installed - any tips to get that back ?

my upgrade process is to spin up a brand new fresh box, then just restore the database from the old box, do schema updated then each upgrade step in the GUI.

Hi,

If I understand you correctly you simply want to use the new upgraded theme in FusionPBX?
To be clear, this is intentionally not updated automatically by default since people are customizing it.

Go to Default settings -> Theme and delete all of them.
If any branding has been done you probably want to uncheck those boxes.
After this you want to go to
Upgrade and run App Defaults.
To make changes apply directly you need to go to Default settings again and run Reload
.

There is a good chance you need to clear your browser cache and refresh the page to see the new look.

Best of luck!

I agree with what MrObscured said in his message. The default settings during an install will look for missing defaults and add those. However, in most cases, it will not automatically update those settings. The reason is someone could have customized certain settings that they want to keep.

Your dashboard could also be out of date. So if the dashboard doesn't look good then recommend updating it whether you are on the 5.3 version or a recent master branch.

If your dashboard doesn't look like this then you should consider updating it.
https://docs.fusionpbx.com/en/latest/home/dashboard.html

Here is how to update the FusionPBX dashboard.
  • Login to the web interface
  • From the dashboard press the SETTINGS button.
  • If you changed the groups assigned in the Dashboard.
    • Then print the page and save it to a PDF for reference later.
  • Select the first checkbox this will select all the ones below it.
  • Then press the DELETE button
  • Then go to the Menu and press Advanced then click on Upgrade.
  • Put a checkmark in App Defaults then press the Execute
