Howdy, It's been a while but we recently came across a right head scratcher and wondering if anyone has seen it before/any idea why it could be happening.

We have a client who has a set up with 1 handset outside their main network with the other handsets inside their "head office" in reality the buildings are next door but on separate internet connections,

Scenario - Extension 8110 calls from the "satellite" site to the extensions in head office and tries to transfer a call, the call never arrives but the extension called locks up and is unable to make or receive further calls until it restarts.
The caller being transferred initially hears the default hold music, not the music set on the extension, and then nothing for about the default 25-30 seconds and then the call starts ringing on the extension 8110 handsets as an external incoming call again.

Now these handsets were working absolutely fine a month ago, no hardware changes have been made, no upgraded firmware, no changes to the sip trunking, endpoints or internet connections.

In diagnosing the issue:
  • The handset has been factory reset. (satellite handset)
  • The extension has been deleted completely from fusion and recreated (had corrupted extensions previously)
  • Took the satellite handset into the main office on the same network and same issue.
  • Registered the extension on a different phone and attempted the transfer, same fault.
It's worth noting the 8110 extension has a different outbound caller ID from the main office handsets but as these are internal calls I can't see that making a difference.
