setting extension to record outbound records internal/local calls too

related to my earlier post on recording on outbound routes we started to look for alternative ways to record outbound calls.
we found in the extension settings a dropdown:



When set to INBOUND any local ext-2-ext calls as well as OUTBOUND calls are recorded. I would have expected no "Local" extension-2-extension calls to be recorded and only calls going ouotside the PBX be recorded.

AM I correct? If so is this a bug?

Hi there....my previous post is not doing exactly what we need. We really need to record outbound calls on certain gateways/trunks. Inbound is working since it's going to a call center and we're recording that.

it looks like it could be part of the dialplan but I haven't figured out the exact action needed

I dug around and found this in a thread

action record_session $${recordings_dir}/${domain_name}/archive/${strftime(%Y)}/${strftime(%b)}/${strftime(%d)}/${uuid}.${record_ext}

and this works thanks
