Polycom VVX Date

I would like the date on the LCD screen to be displayed as mm/dd/yy. Of course I can do this through either the web portal or manually through the phone but would like to do it within Accounts / Devices / Settings. The default is day of week, month, date and apparently the template doesn't have a setting and just goes with the default.

After I manually set it, I saw this addition to the config file: lcl.datetime.date.format="MM/DD/YY" I tried to put that info into the settings section but it did not work. Does anyone know the variable name for the date display format?

I just tried this but it didn't work:

In the polycom template, I added the line: {if isset($date_format)} lcl.datetime.date.format="{$date_format}"

And in Accounts / Devices / Settings, I added date_format with a value of MM/DD/YY and it still doesn't work.

This isn't a show-stopper but I would like to set the date display format to the user's preference without having to touch each phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
