Is adding a domain variable to an external menu link possible ?

I've been exploring the menu manager, and I want to know if it is possible to have a domain variable in a menu link

I want to create a menu item that will link our client self management portal but I want to pass a username in that link
so have a link as https://ourcompanyplatform.com?username={some domain variable}

is this doable ?
