IP Auto Provisioning over DNS

Hello,
I am attempting to Auto Provision my IP Phones, Unfortunately, I having problems with my DNS Zone and in the process moving to another provider to host my DNS records so I can create A records for my customers. With that being said, what i have been doing is receiving the phones and programming them at my warehouse location then reshipping them to the customer site.

I just acquired a hotel as a customer and they are 72 rooms, I need to auto provision all those phones rather than configure them manually one by one. I enabled IP auto provisioning over DNS until i get those DNS records thing resolved.

Where I am needing assitance is how do I configure my IP Phone to pull the right URL. I have IP of my server and then the MAC addy (http://1.0.x.1/64167f1c97e5.xml) and I can access the config cause it asks for my auto provisioning credentials. so auto provisioning via IP works(I am aware it is not ideal to use IP over DNS) however I need to implement this customer. Can someone assist me with how to use the url to use if i am using IP over DNS?

You can turn off "http_domain_filter" in default settings and fusion will accept a provision request for any domain/ip nginx is listening on.

Leaving the domain filter off is a slight security risk but should be safe for short term use such as your scenario.

Also the provisioning server should be set to my.domain.com/app/provision in the phone (or temporarily 4.3.2.1/app/provision )

@ad5ou I have attempted all mentioned and no dice. I have attached my settings and my phone settings. something is not allowing the phone to reach my server.

You want http_domain_filter set to value false but enabled true. Sounds backwards, but the default behavior is to filter domain so the setting has to be enabled to set the value desired.



Also, you would normally want to use https for the provisioning method on phone if at all possible.
I don't believe Polycom validates certificates for provisioning by default so it shouldn't be a problem with domain name issues.

I think im stuck until i get this DNS fixed.

Having the same need if there is no dns option - what I need to put in url
Of the end point - to make the phone connect to the specific domain .??
