Hello-

We have a domain that uses time conditions with the after hours inbound calls forwarded to an answering service. During an after hours call, the caller hears an initial ring tone until fusion picks up the call. Once the call is answered, there is about a 2.5 second silence until the ringing of the call to the answering service is heard. I would like to inject a ring tone immediately so the caller knows that progress is being made. What's happening is some callers hang up because they think nothing is happening.

Any ideas?

Is the whole problem, perhaps, that fusionpbx is answering the call. Should it not just be forwarding without answering? How have you got the forward set up?

I've tried it 2 ways with the same results:

1) In the time condition, the Alternate Destination is set to an outbound destination
2) In the time condition, the Alternate Destination is set to an extension that has Not Registered enabled and set to the number that we want to forward to

In fact, option 2 results in a slightly longer delay.

Here is a pastebin of the call:

Here's a pastebin with siptrace on. 214XXXXXX calls 888ZZZZZZZ. Upon receipt of the call, it goes to time condition 7621 and executes the Alternate Destination, which is to dial an outbound destination, which is 503BBBBBBB. The delay begins at 2017-06-21 20:10:55.887938

Is the SBC that the delay is in, can you make another log dialling that number directly with siptrace on.
