CLI (ani)

My carrier is receiving FreeSWITCH as the CLI(ani), which is causing problems for CNAME lookups downstream.

In my gateway, I have Sip CID Type set to pid.
I have tried prepending the bridge statement in the outbound route with {sip_cid_type=pid}sofia/gateway/... but that causes the CLI number to show up as restricted.

Any suggestions?

you mean CNAM not CNAME? CNAM is related to *_id_name variables, CNAME is related to DNS records.

you will need to ask your carrier how the INVITE must be done (technical terms), after that you will figure it out very easily.

Yes, of course I meant CNAM. My carrier expects the called number to be the CLI but they are getting FreeSWITCH instead
