    These days no softphone can run on Apple devices without push notifications to wake up the app. The iOS will shutdown background running applications. I’ve tested and can confirm it’s the case with Grandstream Wave as well. Would be a decent softphone if they had push services.

    You can create a dummy extension "RG_FORWARD_JOHN" on that dummy extension set a call forward all to the mobile. Add that dummy extension into the ring group and make sure you set "Call Forward" to true in the ring group so it will follow your dummy extensions call forward.

    What phone are you using? Whenever i've had issues like this it's always been firmware on the handset or a softphone issue. Can you test the same scenario with a different phone and see if you get the same results?
